World Castles Award - WCA

The international program Castles on the Air, "World Castles Award - WCA", is dedicated to operating from castles, fortresses and other fortifications. It was founded on January 14, 2009 by a group of Russian radio amateurs, members of the Radio Club RZ1CWC, under the name of the international organization "Castles on the Air - COTA".
The goal of the program is the integration of radio amateurs from various countries and the promotion of our historical sites: castles, fortresses, etc., around the world, motivating their learning and preservation.
The Castles on the Air program includes 11 diplomas, 1 plaque and a series of digital QSO and SWL awards for stations operating from castles and fortresses around the world.

The WCA Administrator for the Dominican Republic is David Lama, HI8DL.
