List of DXCC Entities
The DXCC List is based on an article by Clinton B. DeSoto, W1CBD, published in 1935 in QST, "How to Count Countries Worked, A New DX Scoring System," to facilitate how to count DX, or entities, that had worked. The ARRL (American Radio Relay League) DXCC List has been the standard for DXers around the world.
Each geographic or political entity is considered an entity. Over time, the criteria for the DXCC List have changed. The List remains unchanged until an entity no longer meets the criteria under which it was added, at which point it is DELETED.
The ARRL DXCC List is the result of progressive changes in DXing since 1945. Each entity on the DXCC List contains some definable political or geographic distinctive. While the general policy for qualifying entities for the DXCC List has remained the same, there has been a gradual evolution in the specific details of the criteria used to test entity qualifications. To maintain continuity with the past, as well as to maintain a robust DXCC List, all entities that were on the List at the time the 1998 revision went into effect have been retained.
Below is the current DXCC List, organized by prefix. You can reorganize it by clicking on the column header. There are 340 active and 62 deleted.
