Where is my Data?
A common complaint among people who have a data plan on their cell phone is that the contracted plan often ends before the estimated time and they simply cannot understand the reason for this situation. Some go to the service provider, make a complaint and are simply not satisfied, which in many cases leads to the loss of the customer-provider relationship.
One of the reasons, and perhaps the most common, is that when viewing social networks the videos are loaded, just by hovering over the publication, regardless of whether you are interested in watching it or not. It is possible that if you check the phone settings or the same application of the social network, you can adjust whether the video is automatically displayed or not. In the case, for example, of the Whatsapp app you can tell it to automatically download media (photos and videos) with the data plan, but it will do it automatically if you are connected to Wi-Fi.
You may think that if you remove the data plan from your phone and buy a mobile broadband, it will help you to reach the end of the period even with data, incorrect, smartphones only limit downloads if you are with a metered data plan (such as the data plan of your cell phone) if it is connected to Wi-Fi it understands that you are at home and downloads without limits, even updates of the equipment itself. This is why it is not a good idea to buy a mobile broadband, the cell phone connects to it just by Wi-Fi.
Use your cellular data in a smarter way than your phone: While you are away from home or office, use only messaging, receive and send mail, etc. Once you are in a place where there is Wi-Fi, connect to it (it does it automatically on known networks) and browse freely, the device will give priority to the Wi-Fi network instead of the provider.
Tell the phone what size data plan you have, what day of the month it starts and to notify you when it is running low.
